If you've been following my ramblings on The Last of Us you'll know that this is one game that left a big impression. In many ways it is to me what a monkey in a bikini is to HairyBack Tones; it looks good, it feels good and after it has given me everything it has to offer I still want more. In fact I've already vowed to set aside time in my busy gaming schedule to factor in a second play-thro... more.

I often make reference to the fact that some of my best memories from childhood are of playing my Commadore 64 in the late 80's with my buddies. The standout co-op game from that era for me has to be Bubble Bobble and I've often wondered if I would ever relive those days of sitting on the couch with my buddies and getting into huge fights over who's fault it was that yet again, we failed to ge... more.

Time to get your Comic On with Comic Con! Many of us cool, but nerdy types drool at the prospect of going to the states in order to rub shoulders with many of our most loved TV/film personalities while the more geeky among us enjoy meeting the creative writers and artists behind our most beloved comics and book. Well now we can and without having to lug our ass halfway around the world. Comic Co... more.

It's hard to write a review for Fez without considering it's checkered past. After all this is a game that comes with ALOT of emotional baggage. Originally released on Xbox 360 in April 2012 after a fluctuating five year development cycle, the game was met with critical acclaim. Yet anyone who had been following the game's progress up to that point, or has seen Indie Game: The Movie, would kno... more.

If you've never been to Brazil then you need to go. The weather, the women, the Caipirinhas, (it's a kickass cocktail, see recipe above), the beaches, the organised crime - it's a must visit destination. By the way, I'm joking about the crime, I was there in 2008 and it was completely safe then and I believe it's even more safe now. Well, as safe as any major city! Anyway, SCE are running... more.

Regular visitors to the treehouse will know that not only is HB-Tones wise and fascinating, he is also something of of a Playstation enthusiast, (note that he is not, I repeat not a Sony Fanboy). He is also very mature which is why he is not going to say 'Ha! Stick it Xbox fans - I said you would all regret your dumbass decision to buy an X-Box instead of a Playstation and now the day has come. ... more.

Rumours have been circulating of late that Sony have a new gadget in the works, a Virtual Reality device to be precise. Well they've only just gone and confirmed it by announcing Project Morpheus at GDC! There's been much talk of how the future of gaming may lie with Virtual Reality since the Oculus Rift was kick-started back in 2012. With confirmation that Sony are working on a VR device for ... more.

Driveclub was set to herald in the next generation of racing games on PS4 as a launch title to be made free for Plus members. After a convincing showing at E3 it seemed as though Driveclub looked ready to go head to head with Forza for next gen pole position. And then it was delayed until early 2014... The delay looks set to continue after a recent interview during which Scott Rohde, Produc... more.

Let me start by addressing the Marklar in the room; censorship. It's the one thing that has tainted the release of this long-awaited South Park game and it's left fans on this side of the pond feeling more than a little hard done by. The worse thing about it is just how unnecessary the whole thing is. The cuts made to the game aren't being enforced by a ratings body but instead are the result ... more.

Some of my happiest memories of being a little ape in the late 80's are of playing my Commadore 64 with my buddies. We spent countless hours playing classics like Ghosts 'n Goblins, Wonderboy and Bubble Bobble so 25 years later when I see games like TowerFall Ascension it's a mixed bag of emotions. A feeling of nostalgia comes over me along with an urge to indulge in retro gaming because it... more.

I had two choices last night - sweet sweet love with Mrs Hairyback or Flying Solo Love with myself. Time was of the essence because I wanted to start playing my newly downloaded copy of Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition so I opted for the latter, (much to the relief of Mrs Hairyback as it turned out!). Anyway, I have not played the original so I don't know what's new but I do know th... more.

I love diving - Scuba diving, Sky diving, Cliff Diving, there's a town called Muff in Ireland (I don't know why that place just popped into my head). Anyway, Helldiving sounds awesome and now I can add it to the list of diving activities that I love. This is a top down co-op shooter from Arrowhead Games and it looks like a ridiculous amount of fun. It's got serious loadout customization fun... more.

If you like stealth games then you'll no doubt have heard of Thief; the latest release from Square Enix to put you in a world where sneaking is the name of the game. However, you've probably also heard that the game has been getting mixed reviews from critics. Eager to play something new on my shiny PS4 I decided to take a gamble and pick the game up. Having spent about five hours with Thief a... more.

As usual I'm confused! We have First Person games, we have Third Person games and now we have a Fourth Person game - what happened to Second Person? Moments later after a swift google, I now know that Second Person Shooters are in fact from the view point of the enemies of the player. Sounds interesting but not as interesting as the Fourth Person Puzzling Adventure from Visiontrack Media. &... more.

Chimpman-D: Hey Hairy Back Tones, haven't seen you for ages dude. Where have you been? HB-Tones: That crazy lingerie model has been stalking me so I've been keeping a low profile. Luckily the stalking started the same day that I got my PS4 so it was impeccable timing! Chimpman-D: What do you think of it? HB-Tones: Stalking is wrong but it's nice to know that I'm wanted. Chimpman-D:... more.
