Some of my happiest memories of being a little ape in the late 80's are of playing my Commadore 64 with my buddies. We spent countless hours playing classics like Ghosts 'n Goblins, Wonderboy and Bubble Bobble so 25 years later when I see games like TowerFall Ascension it's a mixed bag of emotions. A feeling of nostalgia comes over me along with an urge to indulge in retro gaming because it... more.

I had two choices last night - sweet sweet love with Mrs Hairyback or Flying Solo Love with myself. Time was of the essence because I wanted to start playing my newly downloaded copy of Dead Nation Apocalypse Edition so I opted for the latter, (much to the relief of Mrs Hairyback as it turned out!). Anyway, I have not played the original so I don't know what's new but I do know th... more.

I love diving - Scuba diving, Sky diving, Cliff Diving, there's a town called Muff in Ireland (I don't know why that place just popped into my head). Anyway, Helldiving sounds awesome and now I can add it to the list of diving activities that I love. This is a top down co-op shooter from Arrowhead Games and it looks like a ridiculous amount of fun. It's got serious loadout customization fun... more.

If you like stealth games then you'll no doubt have heard of Thief; the latest release from Square Enix to put you in a world where sneaking is the name of the game. However, you've probably also heard that the game has been getting mixed reviews from critics. Eager to play something new on my shiny PS4 I decided to take a gamble and pick the game up. Having spent about five hours with Thief a... more.

As usual I'm confused! We have First Person games, we have Third Person games and now we have a Fourth Person game - what happened to Second Person? Moments later after a swift google, I now know that Second Person Shooters are in fact from the view point of the enemies of the player. Sounds interesting but not as interesting as the Fourth Person Puzzling Adventure from Visiontrack Media. &... more.

Chimpman-D: Hey Hairy Back Tones, haven't seen you for ages dude. Where have you been? HB-Tones: That crazy lingerie model has been stalking me so I've been keeping a low profile. Luckily the stalking started the same day that I got my PS4 so it was impeccable timing! Chimpman-D: What do you think of it? HB-Tones: Stalking is wrong but it's nice to know that I'm wanted. Chimpman-D:... more.

I've been enjoying the hell out of my PS4 since getting it at launch but, as with any new console, new games can be in short supply. Now that I've made my way through a lot of the launch line up I'm looking for new titles to help put my DualShock 4 controller to the test. Thankfully the developers at Red Barrels, and PlayStation Plus, have seen fit to answer my prayers with survival horror tit... more.

I have two great loves in my life; my monkey missus and The Last of Us. Now, thanks to both of them, I've got one great dilemma. They'll both be vying for my attention come Valentine's day. Both boast stunning graphics, great controls and varying degrees of difficulty but only one let's me cave infected people's heads in with a brick. Yes, The Last of Us will be receiving brand new story DL... more.

You might find this hard to believe but the GZ apes don't get paid for being bloggers so we need alternative sources of income. Davie Kong is a bodyguard/slave for a homo-erotic porn star, Chimpan-D is a cross dressing go-go dancer and I sell my incredible hair for money. However, I'm currently thinking about taking up game development because the Unity game development engine is now on Vita w... more.

To say I've been playing a lot of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag would be putting things mildly. While I've played plenty of other entries in the series before, none have ever captured my imagination in the same way that Black Flag has. While I still think the series has some flaws in areas such as combat and mission design there is something utterly addictive about being a pirate, engaging i... more.

Saints be praised, we have confirmed release dates for the HD remasters of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2! Depending on who you talk to Final Fantasy X is often touted as t... more.

Hairyback Tones may never have been faithful to anything in his entire life but gosh darn it, if I've ever known true love it's with that smooth, black, seductive temptress that never lets me down, never bores me and lets me play with myself as much as I want. Yes, I truly love my PS3 and although I'd love to get my hands on a PS4, I've realised that I still have so much unfinished business wi... more.

Tearaway is the latest platformer from Media Molecule; the team behind the popular LittleBigPlanet series. Given Media Molecule's background it's clear that creativity is something the team revel in and Tearaway can only be described as a creative, imaginative and beautiful game that fully utilises all of the Vita's functionality. If you own a Vita then you should own this game. The concept... more.

I'm finding it incredibly hard to think of a good opening to this piece. How do I capture the importance of the last 24 hours? How do I sum up everything I have seen and experienced? And how the hell am I supposed to do anything at all really when I've got a brand new PlayStation 4 sitting just a few feet away from me!? It's calling to me, inviting me with its soft blue light... What's that, P... more.

HairyBack Tones: Hey Chimpan-D, what will you be doing tomorrow? Chimpan-D: Well apart from the usual, interfering with myself for a couple of hours and trying on ladies lingerie, I'll be playing my PS4 which I had the presence of mind to pre-order! What about you? HB T: The usual; pumping some serious weights, driving my race car and having cocktails with a lingerie model. I'll also be ... more.
